wildlife park, zoo, country park all on bikes (if ages permit), seaside even out of season is fun, if dressed for it, ten pin bowling (again depending on ages)

A picnic at a well known beauty spot.

A day out birdwatching by lake, river or resevoir

A visit to a National Trust property or garden or a local zoo.

A trip to the seaside

A mystery coach tour.

For a wet day in, a jigsaw competition. Get 2 or 3 groups together, each doing a jigsaw with the same number of pieces and give a small prize to the team who finishes first.

Take your kids for a bike ride or buy some cheap fishing rods and nets and go fishing with them at the beach.

when my kids are bored at home i print out a list of treasures get their friends into groups then they have to go and find whats on the list it took them three hours to find the four leaf clover!!!

Go to an art gallery or museum.They have kids activities and local authority and government ones are almost always FREE!!!

farms are great in the spring with all the baby animals, especially if they let you pet them or hold them.
