what would be the effect on the food web if an owl ate dormice appeared in the wood?

Pardon? Owls do eat dormice!
I'm glad it's not just me that can't make sense of the question.

Has anybody worked out what the "appeared in the wood" bit, is on about ??
You can see why LSD has gone out of fashion.
If the owl ate all the dormice then they, the dormice, would not be evident in the wood.
Then, dormice food would proliferate

Dormice Food: flowers, pollen, fruit, nuts and insects. Hazel, honeysuckle, bramble and oak are particularly important as food sources.
