How Do I Get An I.p Address From An Email Sent To Me

got a suspicious email today. is there any way i can get an IP address from the sender or get name of who sent it ? also how do i get the name of someone who has given me a threatening phone call apart from going to police.

As to the latter query, you can google the number or ring it on some pretext and see if you can get some info out of them, but if it's threatening you can try the police- although they may want to wait see whether it was just a one-off

It could depend on which system you use for E-mails.
With Outlook Express you can Right Click the e-mail header, select Properties, then Details, then Message Source to get the IP address route as often, quite a few addresses are used to forward the e-mail to you.
Also, www.ipaddresslocation.org can be useful in locating such information.
