Gladioli Second Flowering

I have just noticed that some of my gladioli have started to flower again. They flowered about June / July and I was getting ready to take them up when I saw new flower spikes. Is it normal to have 2 lots of flowers in 1 year I've never had it before.

This can happen with the Gladioli. What type is it? Can you upload a picture?

I love the Gladiolus caeruleus. Lovely looking flowers.

At last an answer thank you, I'm not sure what kind it is it had big peach coloured flowers, they just came in a bag of mixed gladdies from shop, they were pink, lilac, peach and white when they bloomed

I've known this to happen frequently but only in a green house situation. You clearly have good soil and good luck of weather on your side. Over here we're struggling to keep stuff alive. I don't think it helps having all the dogs urinating on everything though.

When I say green house I mean a controlled tunnel. It must be lovely to see them flower again :) you lucky person, you.

My garden is still looking beautiful fucsias are in full bloom best show ive had in years also dahlias, buzzy lizzy, begonias all lovely. We are on Angelesy where we have a very mild climate but this years flowers have been exceptional. even my clematis and passion flower are still flowering im so pleased I must be doing something right and I don't own a greenhouse, I just plonk em in ground and hope for the best,
