cellulose is manufactured in the Golgi complex/apparatus.

I'm tempted to say this is wrong but I can't seem to find any literature to prove or disprove this. HELP!

The plant cell wall is made up of cellulose microfibrils embedded in a matrix of pectin and hemicellulose. The matrix polysaccharides are indeed manufactured in the golgi, but the cellulose is made by a cellulose synthase complex adjacent to the cell membrane.

Hope this makes sense!
