A Very Productive Carpet Cleaning Weekend - Simple Pleasures
8 Answers
Sad, I know, but this is a job I love. 48-hour carpet cleaner hire, done the old folks place and our big (grubby) living room. Could grow spuds in the muck that's shifted. It makes me feel as if I have achieved something, job done, boxed off.

It is heavy, but once 'on the floor' you don't need to lift it. It comes with a clip-on upholstery attachment with a very long hose, so these could do stairs. I think with stairs you'd have to do half from the ground floor and half from the landing, if you get my drift. But for pushing up and down a big room it's very simple and straightforward.
I did the big room on Friday afternoon and it was dry enough to walk on straight away - very short pile carpet. The folks' flat has a deeper pile carpet and this felt damp to touch afterwards, but as they are away on hols it will be nicely dry when they get back. I did our big room again for good luck this morning before returning the beast, and with the sunshine it's dry now.
Ah, I love using The Rug Doctor too :)
I was gobsmacked at the colour of the water each time I had to empty it... gross! It's worth the hassle though (not really 'hassle' but you know what I mean) as my carpets looked as good as new after. I'm going to make it a yearly thing now, as I was so shocked at the grubby water.
Well done on ticking something off the 'to do' list, but Sunday's are a day of relaxing, so go put your feet up and have a cuppa :)
