Would You Go To This Venue?

Imagine if your town opened a posh hotel bar type place, which did live jazz music, DJs which played music from 60s/70s/ soundtracks/ experimental pop, old school discos etc, but which was dress up and be glam, suits for men, good food etc. Would you go? In my town there seems to be only nightclubs for students, very loud drum and bass style DJ nights and that's about it. I'd love it if there was a venue that was a real treat to go to- like the Ritz, where you could dress up and dance or eat or watch people. Would you like something like that?!

I would, but such a venue would have difficulty in surviving.
The (ahem!) mature audience to whom this would appeal do not attend regularly enough to make a hardcore playing audience which any venue needs to stay in business.
They may go, say once a month for a night out, but clubs need a weekly audience of serious drinkers to stay viable, which is why student bars and discos thrive and proliferate, and nightclubs for the 'sophisticated' set always struggle and usually fade.

Sorry Scarlett - venues go in and out of fashion with the crowds (usually young drinkers) who use them.
Even the constant attractions which never change their music policy and decor fall from faviour for no reason other than simple word-of-mouth.
Any venue with decor suitable for a more mature audience would never get off the ground with the younger patrons, so again, it would fail because maturer patrons are monthly (or more seldom than that) not weekly visitors.
