Good morning. I have recently changed to Orange because the network coverage was supposed to be better - it isn't! I don't use my mobile much so if I top up £10 and don't use it how long before I lose it? I know with Vodafone I had to make at least one call/text in 6 months. Someone thought that I would have to use it within 3 months or lose it.

Six months. See link below. Scroll down to...'Top-Ups' Section 3.4 :- http://studio.orange.co.uk/mobileterms/pdfs/PAYG-Terms-and-conditions-for-the-supply-of-Orange-network-services-Sept-2010.pdf Al.

I don't believe any provider will be so short of numbers they would contemplate dissuading folk from joining up to their service with a 3 month limit. (But fair's fair, they are there to make profit and can't afford t0 have allocated numbers that aren't being used.) 6 seems common although some providers simply suspend them at 6 months and don't actually clear it all ready for reuse/reallocation until 12.
