'D'ye want tae see the body?' spoken very slowly. Any idea of what comedy film or TV programme it might have come from?

Thanks for the suggestion - only I don't think that's where I know it from, because this is something remembered from when my children were quite young, and that's before Austin Powers. Any other ideas very welcome!
Taggart, maybe?

Sorry, Taggart's not comedy (well, not meant to be anyway!)

Could
Ooops, pressed the wrong button... could it be Private Fraser from Dad's Army? He was Scottish and an undertaker so he might have had a body lying around.

Thanks. We did think of him, but believe he sounds a bit higher class than this voice. I'm also clinging to the idea that I'll get an 'oh, yes, of course' feeling if the right context comes along - remember the scene it comes from - and it hasn't happened yet.
Any idea of a timescale? 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's...

Do any of the actors here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Scottish_actors ring a bell?

Question Author

Some time in the 80s, I would guess.

I'll have a browse through that link you've given. Thanks.
