Where does all of this rubbish come from that Scotland is all Misty Mountains, purple heather and tartan clad people running around inebriated on whisky??

God Damn, I just saw it on tonights Richard & Judy, some guy in a kilt!!! Will somebody tell them this isn't really Scotland, and half those words he was saying, I've never heard of, as far as I knew a 'dod' or 'daud' was a piece of something, ie gies a daud a that breid which translated means; can I have a piece of bread, it does not mean hit, at least I've never heard it used in that context! If someone knows better maybe you can enlighten us all!

Yeah its bloody freezing and they don't eat much veg either. Whisky is disgusting!

I'd say you've got Hollywood to thank for the image, the biggest culprits being Brigadoon and as said Whisky Galore. There'll be loads of others too! Perhaps someone can list them?

I'm scottish, from the highlands and it also annoys me when some narrow minded scots take everything so personally. Get a life. Get out more, go somewhere and see some real oppression or suffering.
