Hoping someone can help? ......................................................................... My 20 month old Lhasa Apso is house trained and has never made a mess in the house. Up till a few months ago she would 'go' wee and poo in the yard, but now she will only do her business on the field away from the house! we have bought a product that should make her think there are other dogs are around but to no avail she still won't!! We have rewarded since day one for going on the right place but even this carrot does'nt do the trick now!! I wonder if anyone else has had the same problems as we are experiencing. We know that Lhasa's are stubborn but this is just plain daft!!

When I first read this I thought it was going to say she was messing indoors. Most people would be happy that she doesn't go in her own yard! My GSD doesn't like going at home although he will if he needs to. He prefers to find a bit of long undergrowth and backs into it to 'hide' what he has done. The smaller dogs like to go on grass too. What happens if you take her into the yard for a while until she has gone before taking her to the field? Sounds to me like she wants to keep her own place clean, so far from being daft I think she is being clever!

They do say that Lhasa's are very clean when you have managed to house train them, but we don't know why she suddenly decided that she won't go in the yard. We have left her out there by herself, with us, with a lead on as if its a walk, you name it we've tried it! We are unfortunate that we don't have a garden with grass and thats what we thought would help,so, in our postage stamp garden we bought some turf and all she did was want to dig it up!! So until we find a solution we'll have to make it a bonus that we get exercise 3 times a day taking her to the field!
