Went out to get some supplies earlier and the bus coming back was quite full.

A youngish lad got on with a white stick, so either blind or partially sighted, and nobody moved to help him get a seat (or even give up a seat for him) except me and I have a walking stick myself.

Luckily when I spoke to him and went to move it prompted one guy to move and let him have a seat.

I was, not surprised given my own experience, but disgusted.

Just wanted a rant...arghhhhh! What has got you wound up today?

The rude assistant in the pharmacy in Sainsburys, nearly told her I was a secret shopper and she would be hearing from head office about her 'performance'.

Thanks everyone...and to Eve's original point....I have noticed able bodied people ignore people who really do need a seat more now than ever before. It used to be a given that you gave your seat to someone who needed it.
I was a bit miffed though, on the Underground recently, when a young girl offered me her seat as I got on....I tell you...I was booking hair and beautician appointments before I left the carriage....;-)

having vertigo this evening - the first since May - still having it but am on here for a few mins then will log off and say good night - was up very early ie about 6 so some times getting up too early triggers this off - anything triggers it off. Ok that is my rant.

Have had back problems for years now but about 5 years ago on a short visit to Brighton the pain was seriously bad so I had two N H S walking sticks to help. The people were wonderfully considerate to me , embarrassingly so . As I get older and have to use Public Transport more it does worry me how i will cope with the ignorance I see on P T where I live. Wish I could afford a property i Brighton!!!

Gave her the prescription and she TOLD me to go shopping. Did my tiny bit of shopping and went back and she said I had only been gone one minute (!) and then she TOLD me to sit down (the chair was occupied - not sure if she wanted me to sit on the other persons lap). Then she kept huffing and puffing every time she looked at me, could feel her mentally rolling her eyes!

Grandpa....people with sticks can be eccentric....use it!!! There's nothing like a man waving a stick to free up a few seats.....x

Thanks Pixie...she is curled on the bed...rarely knows anyone and just sips milk and Fortisips...god knows how she is alive but all the tests she had recently when we thought she was at the end came back really good....???
If she weighs four stone I am exaggerating.....

thanks Anne - and good luck Gness re your mother and sorry Sherr - you got such a rude person - I have to say for myself only whilst Belfast can be a pain in the a se - it is a long long time since I have come across rude shop assistants - yes they can be a bit vague but that is acceptable. Nobody needs rudeness particularly when one is going through their own problems.

Opening a letter from E-on .It said 'How does £135 towards your winter electricity bill sound'? Very nice until you read the next page.
Only going to people on certain benefits!!(About a dozen different ones) We are not receiving any of them so we are not eligible .That wound me up today!!!

How rude Sherr! Did you put her in her place? I'm rubbish at doing stuff like that though I find myself doing a bit of an exasperated sigh more often now haha, that and the silent with raised eyebrow thing :)

Granpajoe, it's difficult isn't it. I do a ridiculous journey sometimes when I go to the doctors as the bus is almost always full to standing at the nearest stop so I usually end up travelling back into town to get on the bus at the first stop to get home, adding up to an hour onto my journey at busy times!

I was mentally composing a complaint and then I stopped myself and thought that she might have stuff going on that was making her miserable. However, if I go there again and she is just as rude I will complain (himself had to walk off as he was getting cross with her).

I live in the Greater London area and I get really mad these days because all our newcomers to our shores let the small kids have a seat and the elderly have to stand, these kids could easily sit on their mother's laps they way we did with our kids when younger but no they insist the child sits on a seat of their own, it causes big rows sometimes.
Lately our local buses are so full of school kids going or returning from school with their free bus rides that it takes at least three buses before the driver will even open the door to let more people on, and its getting worse.
