I was reading that when music from their era is played to old folks who are in care/nursing homes, it cheers them up no end and even the folks with dementia manage to sing along.
If I ever end up in a home they are in for a big shock as I will be requesting a variety of heavy metal.

Hey pixie, tell those female residents that they can look but not touch unless invited to ! ;-)
I thought we had one already - it's called the Mad Over Fifties' Club :-)
Yes but that only opens once a week, boxy.
Jordy can visit as the DJ....long as he has Joan Baez......

If anyone comes near me and suggests Bingo I swear I will deck them.
We could l go fishing with nurse ratched !
There won't be bingo, daisy. Everybody will be busy on their laptops, trying to remember their passwords for Answerbank.

I know you'd flee the moment nurse ratchet turns her back...rebels

I'd rather play bingo than run into that lot from the news section though!
When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat that doesn't go, and doesn't suit me,
And I shall spend my pension
on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals,
and say we've no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I am tired,
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells,
And run my stick along the public railings,
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And pick the flowers in other people's gardens,
And learn to spit.
You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat,
And eat three pounds of sausages at a go,
Or only bread and pickle for a week,
And hoard pens and pencils and beer mats
and things in boxes.
But now we must have clothes that keep us dry,
And pay our rent and not swear in the street,
And set a good example for the children.
We will have friends to dinner and read the papers.
But maybe I ought to practise a little now?
So people who know me
are not too shocked and surprised,
When suddenly I am old
and start to wear purple!

I am now going to bounce across the field to the bar to partake of some elixir of youth in order to stall the process of catching up with you lot...Cheers:)
