Are Provident A Legitimate Company?
8 Answers
Hi there I took out a loan with provident home credit and I have fallen into arrears with repayments I can repay the arrears next week no problem. But the woman rang me and I did not answer and then last night I am probably being paranoid my intercom rang I was not expecting anyone so I did not answer and put my headphones on. I had all the curtains closed and no lights on so it was dark for the next two hours I kept on seeing flashing car headlights at my bedroom window but no proof it was mine there are 16 flats in this block but I am worried they may be dodgy but they seem legitimate has anyone heard what happens if you fall into arrears with them?

I recall neighbours used them and they SEEMED to be ok. None of them ever got into arrears so don't know what would've happened if they had. As I say, it may not be the same company. The company I'm talking about was reputable though. I wish you well with yours Gordi. xx

Gosh yes, Provident have been around for ages. When we first married in 1973, we used to live in a flat next door to their local office. We got to know the people who worked there. They used to issue "cheques" which could then be spent in certain stores in the town, and then people would come in and pay every week. I suppose it was like HP in a smaller way.
