is it ok to use other applications while i am runing anti-virus and spyware scans? i have norton a-v and it takes maybe 2 hours to scan a laptop with 40gGB hard drive . is this normal? cheers

Runnin other apps is not a good idea, it will make NAV go even slower and possibly give you errors while scanning.
