can boracic powder be used to dry weeping eczema

I could be wrong, but I don't think I would put it on a weepy wound; it is mostly used as a cleaning agent and has strong antifungal and anti mould properties.


You may be confusing this with another powder, the name of which I have completely forgotten, and I am in desperation trying to remember; but it is used on babies tummy button cords to dry them out if they go weepy and manky, and you can use it too on things like boils and spots that are filled with a bit of pus (I hate that word sorry!) And it is called.........

sterzac powder; available from chemist shops over the counter and comes in a miniture tiny little tin like a talc tin (or it used to!)

Hi all, sorry to tell you that Sterzac powder has been discontinued, the march of progress and all that stuff!

blimey! I must live in the sticks then; bought some this year for my baba! rural pharmacy who also stocks bottles of glycerin, caustic soda and pure ammonnia....what a shame.


Itll be back, repackaged and remarketed...you mark my words. :-)
