I'm slightly embarrassed to admit that I bought supermarket cheese, but ...

In a moment of abject laziness, I just bought some cheese from Waitrose.

The lady on the cheese counter said I could pick some little fruity things for free. How nice is that.

:0)

You know, the little quince paste and pear compote sort of things.

They came to about five pounds.

So that's paid for my Starbucks.

I do love a freebie.

Diz, you have to understand the logic, I talked myself out of buying something yesterday that was £40 odd, so now I've got £40 to spend unwisely xx

Thanks Diz,
I just Googled 'Gerbil Recipes'
I shouldn't have done!!
:-(
Get the pelt Diz, I want a fur coat
I've spoken to the people who took the dog on. Raccoon dog hasn't actually killed the gerbil but has tormented them. Sorry folks, no pelt for you.
The gerbil tormentor is on the BDRR FB page - https://www.facebook.com/bdrrdogs

Sorry to hijack your thread JJ. I'll buy you a coffee in return!
They're thickos if they cant see terror in terriers. Dont give dogs to irrriots

That's okay, Diz.

I think we've just about done the cheese and coffee stuff.

The dog eats gerbil story is more interesting.
I don't quite understand your post tambo.

This dog is a cross breed and isn't what I'd call a terrier. A terrier dog doesn't always display 'terror' towards other animals. Unfortunately it's down to trial and error. This is also why we have a trial agreement which protects us and the potential owner. Because of how we operate the dog will be back in our care in the next 20 minutes and saves the potential owner having to do what a lot of irresponsible dog owners do - dump their dogs in woods, chain them to trees or even just throw them our their car.

We can't foresee everything but we do test our dogs with cats and children in a safe environment. They are also with other dogs so we know they can get along.

Terrier comes from the word terre or terra (earth) ... presumably, I suppose, because they go underground to chase things.
Dogs are carnivores and gerbils would be their natural prey.
They are good people who wanted to adopt raccoon dog. I think it is touching because raccoon dog is blind in one eye and the woman wanting to adopt is also blind.

Oh, he's gorgeous ...
