what would you say is the quickest time possible from an offer being accepted and getting the keys to your new home?

Well I gather the world record is less than 1 day! Cash buyer obviously!
Indeed there was some chap about a year ago that did it in a day in London.

However I think was a bit of a misrepresentation because the seller would have had to do a fair amount of ground work. The thing that takes the time is the local authority searches etc so if the seller can do those things up front then there is no reason it couldn't be done quicker.

I managed it in 2 weeks on the first home I purchased 16 years ago. The house was vacant & my solicitor worked flat out getting it all sorted ~ as well as my building society as I was getting a 95% mortgage.


The reason I wanted it done so quickly was because I had to leave the B&B I was in, & all my savings were invested in the property.

God that's quick! Ours took 2 months and there was no chain!!!
