We are now up and running with our new satellite broadband, its very good but latency is a bit slow (we did know about latency being a bit slow prior to signing up) so it takes about 3-4 seconds to find the site but then it copes with no lag, so the likes of streaming vids etc is great.

so now I just want to get a fairly accurate speed test.

Hi Wendilla, pretty much settled in now and loving every minute, still getting used to not being able to have a day off lol. Every time I think I will have a easy day something happens but I wouldn't change it for the world.
Know what you mean Ratter. Many years ago I lived on a farm. A dairy farm nothing with so many different animals as yours but I know it is a 24 hour day at times I myself have been up in the middle of the night helping my x to calve the cows but such a rewarding job .
I never knew that you could get broadband by satellite dish ? I always thought that you had to have a telephone line or cable. Is it expensive ?
Question Author
Mikey, it cost £670 to have supplied and fitted and then about £29.00 a month so it isnt cheap, however, here in Wales the welsh government is giving out grants for the satellite installation, so that was free.
