At Last....

Today we are off down south to see our friend, she was knocked off her bike 3 and a half years ago by an 89 year old motorist, and has been wheelchair bound ever since, and at long last has moved into her new purpose build house.

Freedom, of sorts, for her, thankfully.

Been waiting a long time for today and really looking forward to seeing her able to move freely round the house.

I am extremely sorry to read of this life-changing event
( done by someone who shd never have been in the driving seat in the first place ) I shudder to think what the driver said to your fren' after he had flattened her: where did you spring from ?

Will she always be in a wheelchair, that is so sad. I just cannot believe that oaps in England do not have to be tested after the age of 70 like we do over here in Spain and then every year. After 50 we are tested, medically and driving virtual machines, every 5 yrs. OK so many Spanisards are bad drivers, but at least they are healthy and can see.

Sadly wheelchair bound for life, she's a tetraplegic.

The driver handed his licence to the police and, at our friends request, was not prosecuted.

Great to see her today, able to roam freely both inside and outside, the first time since March 2010.
