I collected up the money and had every intention of giving it to the charity but I just kept forgetting. Anyway, it was just there burning a hole in my pocket so I ended up buying the latest 'Now...' c.d with it.
To this day I still fell really awful so I now do a little volunteer work when I'm free. See, I'm not all that bad!
About 5 years ago, when I was still new to the UK, I was at a dead end, and too proud to call my mum; I called a mate and ask if he would lend me some money. He came along, took me to the pub, bought all the drinks , and gave me 25 , to which I swore I would give it back within a month. The guy was Chillean ( sp ? from Chili, basically ), and left for home after 2 months. I never saw him again in that time, as I'd found a job and was enjoying myself too much in my hostel. It's been haunting me ever since !!! So to answer your question, I would have gone back to him the week after and paid it back. There are so many things I would like to have done differently, but the subject is guilt, so there,,,lol
