Being discussed on Loose Women today.

Women having a little secret kitty.

Fair enough?

The "night out with the girls" kitty, or the "having a bit of a fling" kitty?

Never put all your eggs in one basket...OH thought he'd found my secret kitty but he'd actually only found half of it :)

I only work two days a week and do all the food shopping out of my wages so if I tried to have a running away fund with what's left I'd only have enough to get me to the end of the road. Luckily, I'm quite happy where I am.
I look after all of the money because himself is pants at budgeting and just causes himself stress. He also would prefer me to look after it because when he is flush he spends it all on other people, mainly the kids, but last week he had some Paypal money and bought me a phone (it was kind of him, he never buys himself anything but I didn't need something so expensive (although it is v shiney)).
Thanks Ratter....think DT has very expensive tastes ! ... give me the chickens and llamas any day !...Lol...
Nah - a bit of both, minty - nice to have luxuries and also feet in t'muck
Each to have their own accounts and a joint one for family/house matters.....and honesty.
Phew...that's a relief ! ....you can see to the four footed animaux....I'll do the chickens !
murraymints, Alpacas! not llamas. I warn you, the cockerels are very loud from about 06.00, that's fine though, who would want to be in bed after then anyway!
Don't see the point of a secret stash particularly unless you're planning on buying a suprising and expensive present; but then I've no wish for a joint account either. I agree with Ekkles.
There is no secrecy in our finances we just don't have any interest in each others financial arrangements.

There are people in volatile relationships who do need an escape fund and it is those that an feel for.

Ratter...I do alopogise !! Do you have any pushmepullmes....like Dr Doolittle ?? I'm always awake before 5am anyway , early bird catches the best worms !
Separate accounts, no secrecy, share the bills and if I ever feel like leaving, I'll nip across to Gness'
always had joint bank accounts but the credit cards are my own and OH's. As someone mentioned, how can you buy gifts from a joint account?
Jeez...that Psyb is a brave woman...but welcome here anytime...x
Does that mean I have to share the shed with Psyb as well as Tony and the goats - it's already getting a bit 'fragrant' in here ...
I'm buying a bike store, Dave...want to bunk down in there? x
Dave, we could use the kitchen, she doesn't go there
Does she even have a kitchen table?
Nothing wrong with having separate accounts but to have a secret one 'just in case' shows there is neither 100% commitment or trust and if that is the case then you might as well call it a day.
