This is Disco Pete.

Hello!

http://www.flickr.com/photos/scarycrow/3947211910/

On the seafront, there's a bar called the Brighton Music Hall. It's just a bar, but they have live music all day, every day. So, obviously, it's a pretty jolly fab bar.

Anyway, Disco Pete is this guy in his 70s who goes there every day, and just stands there, doing this weird dance with his hands. He doesn't get any money, but people sometimes buy him a beer.

He is, by far, our jolliest, and most famous person.

Disco Pete looks quite fit for his age, and fun too.
Gee, this is why I miss living in Brighton :-(
I think I could just about scrape up enough to buy a beach hut boxy.
well..... my sister had a beach hut on the seafront at Hove - I couldn't believe how much she sold it for, a few years back!

Move back, boxy.

You know it makes sense.
We never had anything as jolly as Disco Pete in Enfield.

We had Lenny The Lamp
Here ya go JJ, he's even got his own wiki page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gordon_the_Tramp I'd take most of it with a pinch of salt though.
flippin'heck he was only thirty the last time I saw him, he does well jj
and I thought it was Hove Actually....
Question Author
Actually, it IS Hove, Actually.

:0)

I love Gordon's Wiki page.
Looks like a Fun Guy!

Lenny the Lamp?

Sounds a bit scary!
Question Author
Hey, Balders x

Hi JJ, how ya doing?
Question Author
Good, but not as good as Disco Pete.
Lenny was scary, he was a tramp, and slang for a tramp is paraffin lamp, hence Lenny The Lamp

He looked like Tom Hanks in Castaway, the last day on the island, not the first!
was that the Castaway film that went on for, oo, eight hours, made Tarkovsky look punchy??
It may just have seemed like it went on for 8 hours
If you google "Lenny the tramp Enfield Town" you'll see him
Castaway with Tom Hanks went on for at least two rounds of "is there any pork pie and snacky bits?" Which is probably not Palme d'Or judging criteria, but eternity in our house.

And any Tarkovsky film must get a lifetime eternity/pork pie award - what was the one with the bloke, the cave and the puddle??
