problems installing orig max payne game

i used to have this game installed but now when i try to re-install it a message comes up saying 'c:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt the system file is not suitable for running ms-dos and microsoft winodws applications'.
any help anyone ?

Hmmmm - what was happening when you tried them?
Here's another option.
Simply insert the Windows XP CD into the CD drive and clicking start --> Run and entering:
expand X:\i386\autoexec.nt_ c:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt
(Replace X:\ with your CD ROM drive letter.)
this is much the same solution - but it seems to work from the run command rather than the command prompt.
I found it on a forum somewhere - and it seems to have worked for other people.
Let me know how you get on with this one.
