Downloaded Avast And Comp Won't Respond

I have just installed Avast, done a deep scan now I have problems with the computer shutting down into sleep mode. I notice that someone else had the same problem further down the page and no one replied. Is it one of those things no one can fix? I tried to re set my settings via screen saver even tried googling a fix but it doesn't seem to work. Can anyone help with this? I have a desktop .

Have you checked the power options in the Control Panel?

I use Avast on Windows 8 (and previously on 7 and XP) with default settings and do deep scans regularly but it doesn't cause me any problems, such as not being able to use standby mode.

Hey Bibble,

It may just be coincidence where avast is concerned, but I seem to have exhausted my knowledge on how to re adjust the settings as they never seem to work
