And was the school right to change it's uniform policy so as to fit in with specific religious groups?

/// As a result, Britain’s biggest school have now made a U-turn on their uniform policy, which dictates pupils can only wear one plain pair of metal studs, and say she can now wear the jewellery in class. ///

Does that mean that all pupils will be allowed to wear jewellery in class, or only Muslims?

No Jim, but it's incidents like this that give ammunition to bigots and you are hearing about
them more and more. We all have rules and children should be taught to obey them.
No exceptions.

or as it seems muslims who always seem to get what they want if they dont like something or it doesnt agree with their religion
Giving fuel to bigots? If the parents were stupid enough to go to the press, and not see the consequences, they can't complain if bigots have the bigotry confirmed. But why did the Daily Mail think this story important enough to publish?

There must surely be other people complaining about school rules, so what marks this one out?

This sort of thing really gets on my nerves - someone doesn't like a rule (which are clearly published) so goes bleating to the papers. Don't like it, go somewhere else. It's not just on religious grounds either - at the start of term there we a while raft of 'articles' complaining that schools were too strict on uniform, schools wouldn't tolerate stupid haircuts or beards on students. Schools need to grow a pair and stand up to all of these parents.
She should be removed permanently and married off to an old geezer who knows the value of lil girls charms.
