Be Warned! I am still on long-distance contact with The Shrubbery so be on your best behavior.
It has been great recently to see the return of a number of long-lost faces (or avatars). In the last couple of weeks we have seen Teacher1 back (I thought he'd been lost overboard from a cruise ship) and the Ont-Ices (now as Onty) from Ontario have put in an appearance again along with Magyar. I knew you kouldn't keep away for ever - or is this a gathering for a wake? - I hope not.
The KM Links game is coming along well this month with several high scorers already (but sadly not including myself). That game is run from Australia by Seekeerz and is based on the GK crosswords in The Daily Telegraph (here in the UK) on Saturday and Monday. The game starts early on a Saturday morning in Q&P but there is no rush because the points on offer remain the same until midnight on Sunday.
Look out too for our own version of the game being set during October by 'Princess Psybbo'. That is called the MM Links Game and has an overture in Q&P at 8:45 tomorrow morning followed by the four movements at 9:00. Early play is advised (but not essential) since bonus points have a time limit on them (2 minutes for each link).
This game has had a couple of low-scoring weeks so I'm hoping we can 'up the tempo on the score' this weekend and get you all 'tuned in' to 'Princess Psybbo's' wavelength. The finale is 7pm Sunday.
So come on all of you, join the 'happy band of players', no experience necessary and everyone is welcome to join in.
Good to hear from you, gen2, whilst you bask in the southern climes.
I hope you are remembering to slather on the sunblock factor 50 when outside.
I am told that when you return to your northern abode, close to the Arctic circle, that the same sun cream protects against rust and frostbite!
Hi guys, we've just surfaced in Oz land to what promises to be a warm sunny day but yours truly will be watching neddies and loosing money this afternoon in between solving crosswords and posting here ....wish me luck !
