A friend has just phoned me about getting tickets for our local operatic society.
I said the Thursday performance would be best for me. "OK" she said."as long as thats not the night the old people go" She's 90!!!
I`ve given up trying to get my Mum (83) to take advantage of the local Seniors' community days out as she says "I don`t want to go out with a lot of old dears"
Nice attitude for all of your mums. Way to go mums!
My mum is 72 and one of her friends is 49. When mum is relaying a story abou0t her friend she always refers to her as "my old lady friend". My sister and I always say mum that she is old enough to be her friends' mum, why is she calling her old lady. Mum always say look at her and look at me - who looks older. I do admit mum does look like a young fifty year old. :)
I took my aunt to see her friend in her new 'over 50's' apartment. On the way home I asked her what she thought of it. "Oh it looked lovely but it was full of old people". She is 90 and still lives at home.
My Dad is 83 and Mum is 74 and they both work three days a week in a shop, they love it, I don't know what they would do if they ever had to give up, its their life, they love chatting to all the customers, and even deliver the orders for ' the old people ' on their way home.
