The question was can you name a Liberal Democrat MP.There are 57.
They said there was only one pointless answer. They say they ask 100 people . I would think if you went to a Lib-Dem Party conference nobody would name 56 of them The average person would do well to name up to 10 let alone 56.
. Do they actually ask anybody or as I suspect the answers are completely made up.

Maybe if they picked their 100 people carefully, at least one from each LibDem MP's constituency...

I can't name all that many myself, but it will depend on the 100 people they choose. Most might only know their local MP and one or two others.

The result shows that only one person couldn't name any Libdem MPs. This means that 99 out of 100 people could name at least one Libdem MP (not all 57) - that doesn't seem particularly surprising to me, especially given that one of them is frequently in the news.

It doesn't show that at all -- if 99/100 people could name at least one LibDem MP, but that MP was always Vince Cable, then the other 56 MPs would be "pointless".

When they do the polling to get the numbers do they ask each of the 100 people to only name 1 LibDem MP or do the pollsters get them to name as many as they can on the spur of the moment? imo, the latter seems the more likely polling method for all the questions.

Alex Armstrong says usually that they "give 100 people 100 seconds to name as many..." Lib Dem MPs after the 2010 General Election in this case.

Unless you're interested in politics, I doubt if many people could name Tory, Labour, Lib Dem or any other party's members. And if I could correct gollob, they did not say there was only one pointless answer - there were plenty of them.
