After a few days unplugged, my Sony SlV-se70 VCR wont come on. Yesterday I opened up the plug, took out the fuse & put it in again & it came back on but today it won't come on again. Would it be as simple as needing a new fuse for the plug ? If not, would it be worthwhile trying to get it repaired & how much roughly would it cost ?

Check that you have no loose leads inside the Plug, and make sure the 5Amp Fuse is seated firmly in its holder. If you have a spare Fuse which you know is OK, swap them over just incase.
If your VCR still will not work you will probably have to consider a repair.
How old is it ??

Redman41 : I bought it 2 years ago through a charity shop when my previous VCR stopped working & it has worked perfectly until now
You might be lucky to find another one in the charity shops if you do I am pretty sure it will be cheaper than getting yours fixed.

How much did you pay for it in the Charity Shop ??
If it's faulty then it's not worth paying good money for a repair if you bought it cheap !!

When I plug it in there is a slight whirring sound for about a second. Does anyone know what this means ?
