Can't believe you think the story line is silly, weecalf.
It is beautifully written and very well acted not only by Roy and Hayley but Fizz and Carla, too. Even Sally shone in her heart to heart with Roy.
This must be very difficult to write. As well as incorporating medical realism the writers must be careful to be neither mawkish nor alarmist and balance it elsewhere in each episode with more light hearted storylines.
I think they are dealing with a very emotive storyline superbly.

My OH loathes Coronation STreet but happened to be in the room when their original argument about her wishes was on. It actually provoked a discussion between us on the subject, something we would never have done otherwise, we don't do that sort of thing. I'm sure we're not the only people for whom it has provoked a discussion on this difficult subject.
