I read that he has launched a claim against the woman who alleged he groped her.

No it hasn't, Ratter, being brought up in a pub I experienced things that most youngsters didn't.

Is some dimlo pinching my bum classed as groping? Is saying my dad will kill you if you do that again considered a death threat?

I don't think there should be a time limit on the reports of sexual abuse but I'm just wondering what is sexual abuse and what is drunken thoughtless twerps....

I think there is a problem with justice in this country where someone can be named and shamed before proven Guilty and then not be prosecuted for such a length of time.

There clearly is little evidence so in my opinion he should not have been arrested until they were sure they had a pretty good chance of launching a prosecution.

the amount of women that throw themselves at male celebs (probably the other way round also) I'm suprised theyd need to rape anybody, its being laid on a plate for them

alternatively, if he did do it, then he's got away with it for a long time. Reasonable to counterbalance this by making him wait awhile longer for his day in court. I imagine investigating historic crimes is trickier than recent ones, but I've got no objection to it being done.

forgot to add, before anybody twists and distorts what I've said (as if !) any kids involved then he should be prosecuted if possible.

Rape ? who knows, pushed his luck a bit for a rumble, highly likely.

not all the women these celebs have hanging around are just wanting polite converation and autographs !

There must be some remedy open to someone who is bailed seemingly interminably, say for a year or more, but I can't think what it is. Perhaps there isn't one. Perhaps a judicial review by the High Court ? Arrest is on reasonable suspicion that a crime has been committed and the arrested person committed it . If, after a long time, the CPS haven't got enough evidence to charge someone on a simple complaint in a straightforward case, the presumption ought to be that the original suspicion has not been confirmed or justified

To add to that FredPuli - when someone is arrested and held in custody, then they must be charged or released within a stipulated period. To hold a person on bail for 12 months while they look for something to charge him with is disgraceful.
