Laptop Plug

Dropped my laptop ... Still works but the hole where the plug wire goes in, the lead doesn't stay in as tightly, if I touch it, it falls out. Awkward as my battery is finished and I use the plug attachment all the time ... Can I do anything about it ? Sorry about the non use of technical terms here folks !

Can you claim on your contents insurance? Back in 2010, my little two year old granddaughter jumped on my laptop and broke the lid hinge. I claimed on my policy and got a new laptop. Just a thought.

Or: Tank Tape.

That's what happened, the lid hinge came out on the side where the plug is connected. I pushed it back in, but now I have this problem.

Try looping a rubber band around the plug then stretch the rest of the rubber band across the laptop.
I know it's smaller but I did this on my Grandaughters mobile phone and it worked fine.

Don't want to claim as laptop is quite old now anyway. Buying a part and taking the laptop apart and soldering in a new part is a bit complicated for me ..... Might be time to get a new laptop though as battery dead and had a new hard drive so far ...

The laptop battery died six months ago so I use the plug all the time. I have decided to take a chance with a new battery from Amazon, so fingers crossed. I think the plug point will stay in just to charge the battery up, we will see ...
