Pretty sure I have got a whitlow coming on my finger - anyone have any proven home treatments (I am a big baby so don't fancy going to the docs in case he/she tries to touch it!). Thank you.
Hot moist compresses to help it to burst. use a wheatbag, hot flannel or make porridge and wrap it in teatowel and use that but mind you don't burn yourself.
Anyway, reading about it, a flatmate of mine at college had the same thing on his finger. (I just had never heard it called whitlow.)
I think you do need to go to your GP and get antibiotics. Just tell tell him/her not to touch it!
He (flatmate) had a big bandage on his finger for weeks until it cleared up. Incidentally, he passed it on to his then girlfriend who ended up in hospital with complications... (Not that I'm saying that will happen to you!)
If the happy pixies don't sort it out I will go to the docs, it is really pinging qt the moment (it hurts). I have taken all my rings off, just t be careful.
