you can see why De Niro rarely goes on chat shows - what a dull man! And how bored does he look? First time ive seen Norton look uncomfortable. Who's had more Botox - Cher or Jennifer Saunders?

Awful I felt - fawning and forced the whole way through - even 'the chair' was bad and that song was seriously dire.

I don't watch GN, I don't like him, but I know that RD has something of a reputation for not being fond of interviews.
Personally, I believe that if you have agreed to be interviewed, then it is courtesy to be responsive and entertaining. If you don't see that as part of your remit, then politely decline invitations to chat shows.
It can be disappointing for the interviewer and audience alike if things do not go well - I got offered a phone interview with Johnny Winter, whose music I have loved for many years. He gave monosyllabic answers, and it was clear he did not wish to talk to me. I called his PR to advise that the interview would not be published because Mr Winter declined to converse with me. The PR confirmed that every journalist scheduled for interviews had called to say the same.
It does beggar the question - if you don't wish to be interviewed, why agree and then be rude, and upset a lifelong fan trying to do a professional job?
