Grasshopper

A friend of mine says there was a cartoon where the main character could change into a big grasshopper thing I'm not convinced is there such a cartoon?

Size.... of an ELEPHANT...!! :o)

Both my wife and I remember this, but it would take an expert on kids' tv from the 70's to dredge up its name... Some middle-eastern magical mayhem reminiscent of Aladdin, in which the main (sorceror ?) character changed shape at will using the formula above.. The name SHAZAM..!! (with the exclamation marks, please...:o) rings a distinct bell... and REALLY takes me back..!!
