Web-Cake
Now and then a little window pops up on the bottom right-hand side of my main window and it says Web-Cake ,what is this and what is it for...I definately didn`t download this into my PC...tried to uninstall but can`t...
Anyone know what this is?

If you are going to try Malwarebytes, update it's definitions and then re-boot into 'safe mode' and run Malwarebytes from there.

Web-Cake is a very nasty adware can cause a lot of popups, i was experienced the same problems like you. i follow steps from teesupport agent' s post like these:
1. Disable any suspicious startup items. For Windows XP:
Click Start menu -> click Run -> type: msconfig in the search bar -> open System Configuration Utility -> Disable all possible startup items including those ofWeb-Cake adware.
2. Show hidden files
a) open Control Panel from Start menu and search for Folder Options;
b) under View tab to tick Show hidden files and folders and non-tick Hide protected operating system files (Recommended) and then click OK;
c) click on the “Start” menu and then click on the “Search programs and files” box, Search for and delete these files created by Web-Cake.
3. Remove add-ons.
Internet Explorer:
1) Go to Tools -> ‘Manage Add-ons’;
2) Choose ‘Search Providers’ -> choose ‘Bing’ search engine or ‘Google’ search engine and make it default;
3) Select ‘Search Results’ and click ‘Remove’ to remove it;
4) Go to ‘Tools’ -> ‘Internet Options’; select ‘General tab’ and click website, e.g. Google.com. Click OK to save changes.
4. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del keys together and stop Web-Cake processes in the Windows Task Manager.
