Mobile Phone Contract
I have a contract with 3 Mobile. I recently was due an upgrade and wanted a Nokia phone. The only phone they had to offer was a 'slide' phone. When I received it, I hated it because I was unable to use the keypad, as the keys are so close to the bottom of the phone. Simply did not get on with it. Gave it to my son. Contacted 3 and said I wanted to get another phone, Nokia, but wanted a flip phone (they only have around 5-6 Nokia phones available). They do not have any flip phones available on their website and they seem entirely unwilling to help me to 'have' the type of phone that I want. I explained to them that as they are unable to supply the phone of MY choice, they should allow me to exit the Contract I have, which is until 2012! They have totally disregarded my comments about the fact that they are unable to provide me with a phone of my choice and said that if I want out of the contract I will have to pay them the equivalent of the monthly contract charge, up until 2012, to get out of the Contract. There MUST be some other way of getting out of this deal with them, as they are unable to supply me with the model, spec, and type of phone that I want. I do not use a sophisticated phone, just a basic one, I do not want an all-singing all-dancing phone! What do I do? Who can I contact regarding this? I have even been to Carphone Warehouse to see if I can buy a flip phone that is compatible with the 3 network - I was advised to do this by 3 themselves! Carphone warehouse only have around 3 Nokia phones that are compatible with 3, and none of them are flip phones. Does anyone out there know where I can buy another Nokia phone, flip style, that will work on the 3 network. This is causing me great problems, because the Nokia Flip phone (my original phone from when I took out my Contract with 3) is beginning to fail - I can't delete messages and it keeps crashing!
H E L P - I am in a real quandry as to what to do about this whole matter.

They only give you 14 days to change your mind, and I was just outside this period to send it back.
All phones sold by Asda are unlocked, so they can be used on any network. This one might suit your needs:

Asda claim, both on their website and on their in-store advertising, that their phones will work on any network. If you bought a phone from Asda and found that it didn't work on a particular network you'd have the legal right to a full refund as you'd been sold a product which was not 'fit for purpose'.
To 'cover your back' it might be best, before buying the phone, to ask at the Customer Service Desk whether you can use the phone on the 3 Network - or, if you buy online, email Asda to ask the same question. However I can see no reason why the phone I linked to wouldn't work with your SIM card.
