What's your opinion regards that site?

If I don't wanted people to know something I don't put it on FB. People can't see my page unless I am friends with them (I hope). I use it to keep in touch with old school and college friends, relatives and people from here. I don't go back home so I would not be in touch with a lot of people otherwise. It's horses for courses, if you use it fine, if you don't fine (bit like religion really, I'm not religious but I'm not bothered if others are).

I don't go on every day, but find it really handy for keeping in touch with all the family.
I don't post personal things, unless its as a PM to someone, and i couldn't give a damn what people had for their lunch, or where they are right now.
I love the photo's that I get from the family, keeping me up to date with everyone.
It does have its uses. X

naomi, I know what your saying but if you are on Facebook you can see it and deal with it.

I, m certainly not saying that everybody should have a Facebook account but some people like "Joeluke" really seems to think that he is far better than Facebook users, after all he is "an adult" but we expect that from the like of him, he will just say anything just to be obnoxious.

I have around a thousand people in my friends list, most I have never met but they are part of a very large network of people I love to chat to and virtually every one of them is well over the ages of 18. No I don't class them all as friends, more acquaintances with a common interest.

Meant to add I once had to log into Facebook - someone in America signed up to it and made a mistake in their email address.

I got the Welcome email, followed by another that read like a double optin email.

But then I started to get email from the persons friends.


So - it looks like you can sign up, get a double optin email, but sill be able to login without doing the link in the double optin email (since I got the email, how could they have clicked the link?!!!)

So, getting fedup with the emails, I did a password change request, logged in, sent a message to their daughter explaining that they had used my email address, and that I would delete the Facebook account - which I did!.

I then got a few password request emails but no other emails from the site.

Then I got a conference booking confirmation email! It had someone elses email also listed on it.

I contacted the person and politely asked the to get the other person to make sure they used the corect email address.

To say I got stroppy emails back "how are you using their address" "I know how long they've had this address" and finally "I'll report you to"

At this point I replied "go ahead, and by the way look at the date of a screenshot of my earliest emails from my email address"

Still waiting for a sorry!!!

these love it/hate it/ work of the devil/its okay discussions have been around since bulletin boards and green screen computers. telepnones used to be thought the work of the devil too.
