just been having a look at christmas stuff from my milkman, and was reminded of these 2 items that remind me very much of a dear departed friend of mine and made me feel a bit sad she won't be here this christmas
What kind of things remind you of people in your life?

4711 Cologne, reminds of a wonderful Aunt who died far too young.

Guinness reminds me of my lovely, now departed nan, Old Spice and Shield soap reminds me of my lovely (departed) grandad.

I feel tearful now :(

Parma Violet sweeties, my dearest MIL loved them.

Goya Black Rose perfume, my grandad bought it for me when I was 14.

Coty L'aimant reminds me of my mum, I actually can't face smelling it.

I still can't cope with the smell of certain aftershaves.

We had Newberry Fruits every year at Christmas, it was a tradition, my dad always bought them. I don't think you can get them any more under that name, can you?

We also had huge glacé fruits at Christmas in a wooden box - Dad got those too, from somewhere in London.

I think you'll be disappointed in these. None of the flavours is 'what it used to be', and the gooseberry one is missing altogether.
