Why is it that every time I get a travel insurance qoute, I have to go through my medical history?


I am lucky enough to be able to go abroad four times this year. I all ready have two policies with one company but when I applied for a third, I still had to go through the process.


I know someone is going to shoot me down & perhaps I'm naive, but there seems a logical solution.


If the insurance company (A) kept the details of customer (B), then if B wants insurance, he can simply contact A, give a password & all his details are immediately brought up & the OK or not can be given there & then, saving time & money. Updates can be made at the time of each application or by B beforehand. It would be his responsibility.


I know there is a yearly policy but as I usually only go abroad once a year, it works out expensive.


Constructive criticisms of the above would be appreciated.

At a guess, confidentiality of medical information.
I just use the cover given to me by my gold credit card ... never have to even tell anyone anything ...
why dont you just get annual insurance? have used the post office before. all you need to do is sign a form and they send you a renewal form at the end of the year. no questions, they just assume all is well with your health. you only have to go into detail if something is wrong with your health..... unless thats why you are always filling in forms in which case.... cant help...sorry.
sorry didnt read end of question about annual policys....still post office is competitively priced for single trips. (although i have found slightly cheaper on line)
If you had all your insurance from the SAME company wouldn't that solve a problem, as they will already have your details on file.
