Ad Blocks

I wanted to watch something on ITVPlayer earlier and it came up that I could not view it as I had Ad Blocks on and should remove it from my Browser. First of all, I didn't understand this as in the past week or so I have watched ITV programmes without any problem. Called on hubby to sort it out and he was looking everywhere to try and find where there was an ad block and although he can sort out quite a lot of problems on the computer, he said he'll have to ask my son to work it out when he comes round.

Can anyone shed any light on this and point me (or rather hubby) where to look for this supposed ad block?

Take a screen shot of the problem - if you don't know how, ask, and we'll tell you.
Then we can see exactly what you mean.

A heading comes up 'Ad Block Software Detected'

It goes on that adverts pay for the programmes we like to watch and to remove the ad block but I've never put a block on adverts (wouldn't know how to).
You're right, I don't know how to take a screen shot.

Okay, I've just tried to watch Downton Abbey on ITV player and got exactly the same message - but I do use an ad blocker. I disabled the ad blocker for that domain and it played as expected.

You do have an Ad Blocker installed. Mine is AdBlock Plus.

If you do have an ad blocker, look under 'extensions'

Thanks everyone for taking the trouble to answer. My husband has gone to bed so I'll pass on your suggestions in the morning to removing this ad block that has never knowingly been put on!

Thanks again to everyone who tried to help me although, I must confess, a lot of it went right over my head! My husband tried to find 'extensions' without success and I was about to post again asking for further pointers on where to find it. I mentioned to my husband that there was a java update available - I never know whether to do updates, whether they are safe or not, so he did it. Then he happened to get Downton up on itvplayer and hey presto! the message about ad blocks had gone. I don't understand the reason for it but am just grateful that the message has gone.

Glad you got sorted, I would have explained where 'extensions' are located but I only know where in Chrome. Did not know if you were using that.
