you can just put in an area and the results come up. I agree with you that the league tables are only an indicator, though having moved twice (both times over 200 miles) with primary school aged children I have found them useful, but I also looked at school inspection reports and visited a number of schools in the area. I also liked hanging around when it was hometime - can be an eye opener!
