I heard in the past that when a person reaches 70,they have to do another test to renew their driving licence...a medical one.
Do DVLA get in touch or what????

No there are some considerations at the moment about that for the future but nothing even remotely decided yet.

That's why it's been in the news

You still just have to self-certify to say that you're fit to drive
