Uninstalling Norton 360 From Vista
Is it really just as simple as going into Features and Programmes and clicking Uninstall? Someone told me that Norton has fingers all across the computer and it`s not that easy.

You can only use one anti-virus program at a time whether free or not. If you run more than one you end up with constant conflicts.
Malwarebytes free only runs on demand and I suggest a weekly scan is sufficient. If you have a free trial of the full Malwarebytes it will expire and you will have to pay to continue.

Run the free version and update when required, if it messes up just go back and re-install

Thanks for the replies. I think I will go with MSE. The Norton uninstaller says "Use the Norton Removal Tool to remove a failed installation or damaged Norton Product. After you run the Norton Removal Tool and restart the computer, you will be reinstalling your Norton product from your Norton Management. I`m not really sure what that means.
just to say I installed MSE and it refused to recognise my external hard disk, the one I backed everything up on to. I removed it and installed Avast (free) instead and had no more trouble. Plus I have Malwarebytes but just switch it on and do a scan once a week or so. Things like Avast and MSE are running all the time.
There is a way to get Kaspersky for £1 , just open a Barclays cash card saving account with £1 and register it for online banking. There is an option to get Kaspersky free to protect your account , the free Kaspersky is the latest version and you can put it on to up to 3 computers. You need to keep the account open with the £1 or the free Kaspersky will expire at the end of a year.
