i did that about 8 years ago and it hasn't been back since
if you like you can periodically use a spray atomiser and resoak the wall now and again, just to be safe
HG have a brilliant product called HG Mould remover and it is brilliant. I used it well over a year ago and it is still gone.
It is a spray which you will see working straight away. It is very strong and smells of bleach and it acts like bleach. Spray it on and leave for a while and you can see it working straight away it turns brown then yellow then disappears. Well worth a try
