To cut a long story short i thought you were using a word from "Watership down" and that as you were talking about gods i guesstimated that chtulhu was rabbit-speak for god. Cthulhu is a dark god from the Cthulhu Mythos, introduced by H P Lovecraft. I can't recommend any of the books, as I haven't read them, but I used to play the Chtulhu roleplaying game... Oh dear. You all think I'm sad now, don't you? :o/

If anyone does want a recommendation, they should read 'The Case of Charles Dexter Ward' by H.P Lovecraft. It was a bit of a slow starter at first, but I was s*** scared by the end.

shybearuk: I used to play the Cthulhu RPG too! In fact, I bought a supplement a couple of years back even though I knew I'd never get round to playing it - that's sad. I'd recommend "At The Mountains of Madness" as a starting point, most largish bookshops carry all 3 volumes of the HPL Omnibuses published by Collins that contain pretty much every story HPL wrote - I think this story is the title story of the first omnibus. Incidentally, Cthulhu fans, Guillermo Del Toro (Blade II, Mimic and the upcoming Hellboy) is supposed to be filming an authentic "At The Mountains Of Madness" in the next few years.
