Radio Play With Prunella Scales Late 70's Early 80's
1 Answers
Dear All, I hope someone can help me, my mum has been trying to find the name of a radio play that we think was aired around late 70's early 80's on something like 'afternoon play' possibly on BBc radio.
We think the play was one from Somerset Maughan and set in the 1920/30's as I recall hearing some old 20/30's style music in the background in part of the play. Prunella Scales was in it, I think her character name was Sirrie?, or Cirrie? I've look on the internet extensively and doing some digging it appears there was a play in the 70's, by Somerset M called Arsenic and Lace but I cannot be sure it is that one. I haven't contacted BBC archive yet so maybe they will have something but in the meantime, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

This is very interesting to me as the producer is or was known to me. Graham Gauld was a radio producer I met at the BBC in 1964 and he produced some childrens programmes that I took part in. This led to me joining the staff and staying there for 10 years.
