Are you trying to incite a third party to ask about the content of such messages or is it a genuine, urgent message? If it is the latter I wonder how you managed before the internet came along!

With reference to the "Best Answer" it's perfectly possible to be on the internet and also unaware one has just received a mail. Especially if one uses web based mail only (odd as that might sound).
Just as I might be at home all day and unaware someone has popped something through the letter box :-)

ichkeria - exactly! I have no idea if I have received emails and certainly don't have any pop ups.

I cannot believe there has been so much fuss and the odd really nasty comment over such a trivial issue
