Have just found a large quantity of book mites in cupboards and drawers in the kitchen. Have removed EVERYTHING to various other rooms while cleaning commences. Have washed everything in soap and water. Then squirted Dettox all round. Finally have brushed in neat Milton to all crevices. These pests are so difficult to see. Am still seeing about a dozen ev ery day in various parts. Does anyone have any ideas how I can rid myself of these nuisances. (thanks to Grasscarp who pointed out that I forgot to head up my original post)
Glad to help Irban. However, I have not experienced book mites. Found this online about book lice, which I assume are same thing and it seems very comprehensive. http://www.doityourself.com/stry/how-to-get-rid-of-booklice
Once established they're very difficult to get rid of completely. Getting the lot would be some achievement. Keep the place well aired and warm, it should cut down on the moulds they feed on.
